£40,000 – £45,000 | North Nottinghamshire | Manufacturing / Engineering
We’re looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to take ownership of HSE across an established manufacturing and engineering business.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable working across the shop floor, with operational teams and alongside senior management. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and continually improving the company’s HSE systems, with a particular focus on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Take overall responsibility for Health, Safety & Environmental matters across the business.
Maintain and develop ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
Complete and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
Carry out HSE inspections, audits and workplace assessments.
Manage environmental matters including waste, hazardous waste, chemicals, energy and spill prevention.
Coordinate internal and external ISO audits.
Monitor HSE performance and report KPIs to senior management.
Deliver HSE inductions, training and toolbox talks.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance to reduce HSE risks.
Drive continuous improvement and help develop a positive HSE culture.
We’re looking for someone with:
Proven experience in an HSE / EHS / Health & Safety management role.
Experience within manufacturing or engineering.
Strong practical knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
Experience with risk assessments, COSHH and incident investigation.
Experience conducting or managing internal and external audits.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
The ability to work effectively with both shop-floor employees and senior management.
NEBOSH and ISO Internal/Lead Auditor qualifications would be advantageous, as would experience in a regulated manufacturing or process environment.
£40,000 – £45,000 salary
Based in North Nottinghamshire
38.5 hours per week
Private Medical (BUPA) following successful completion of probation
